Build for free, host for free with a credit, pay to remove it or to host it yourself. Your content is yours; the engine is licensed to you. We can take down what we host, and we say how and why.
Using XRfolio — the builder, hosting, the model library, or a purchase — means you accept these terms. If you do not, please do not use it. “We” is XRfolio; “you” is the person using the service.
XRfolio turns your models, images and text into a 3D portfolio website. There are three things you can do with the result, and they are priced separately:
.xrfolio archive you keep. Free, always, for everyone, with or without an account.Building and previewing need no account. Current prices are on the front page.
Sign-in is handled by Clerk. Keep your credentials to yourself; what happens under your account is yours to answer for. You must be 16 or older.
Stripe processes every payment; we never see your card. Prices are shown before you pay. Pro bills monthly until you cancel, which you can do at any time from the dashboard — it ends at the close of the period you have paid for. The website files are a one-off purchase with no recurring charge. Refunds are decided by a person, case by case; write to us.
Your content is yours. The models, images, video and text you upload, and the portfolio you arrange from them, remain your property. You give us only the permission we need to store, optimize, display and — if you publish — serve them, and only for as long as you keep them with us.
The engine is ours, and licensed to you. The player that renders your room — the code in a site’s _app/ folder — is our copyrighted work. It is never sold; it is licensed under the section below, which is also shipped inside every site as LICENSE.md.
For any site you download or we host for you, we grant you a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the bundled XRfolio engine as part of that site, anywhere you choose to put it. The site makes no request to our servers and keeps working if we stop existing.
You may not:
content.json — editing the files or stylesheet to hide it is a breach of this licence, not a workaround; The licence ends automatically if you break these conditions. It comes with no warranty (see below).
When you publish, we assemble the site from the copy of your portfolio saved in your account and serve it at your-name.<hosting domain> — the same folder of files a download contains, on our web server instead of yours. You choose the name; a name can be changed once every 30 days, after which the old one redirects for 90 days and then stays unavailable for another 90, so an address you once gave out cannot be taken over by someone else.
What we serve is ours to stop serving. We can suspend a hosted site — and, for repeated or serious cases, an account — that breaks these terms, on a valid legal complaint, or when its subscription has ended (see below). When we do, we email the address on the account with the reason, and a suspended site answers visitors with a notice rather than your content.
Suspension for a policy or legal reason is never data loss. A suspended account keeps read access to everything in it: you can open your portfolios in the builder, export a save file, and download the site. Only publishing and uploading stop. A suspension for an unresolved billing lapse works the same way at first, but can end in deletion — see below.
If Pro ends, sites kept live on Pro-only terms (without the credit, beyond the one free site, or with the account over its storage limit) stay up for 14 days, with three warning emails, before they are paused. Restarting Pro brings everything back regardless of the reason; republishing on the free plan only clears the credit and site-count reasons; an account over its storage limit needs to be brought back under it. If a billing pause is never resolved — Pro never restarted, the account never brought back under its storage limit — we delete the account's portfolios and files after 30 days paused, rather than hold abandoned content indefinitely. You can still sign back in afterward; there is just nothing left to reopen.
Hosted sites are served through Cloudflare. We do not promise uninterrupted service or any particular uptime; if we ever stop hosting, you will have notice and the files remain purchasable.
For a one-time $250 payment, we design and build your portfolio for you — using the same builder, from content you provide — and host it on Pro for the first year at no extra charge. After that it renews automatically as an ordinary Pro subscription (see Payment, above) until you cancel.
What you provide. The text, images, video and 3D models that go into the site. You must have the right to use everything you send us, on the same terms as any other upload — see Acceptable use, below.
What’s included. A first draft within 10 business days of us having everything we asked for, and up to 3 rounds of revisions after that, each turned around within 5 business days of a specific, written request. “Try something different” is not a request we can act on; tell us what to change and we will change it.
What isn’t included. Creating or sourcing images, video or 3D models for you, work beyond what the builder itself can do, and revisions beyond the 3 included — further rounds, or changes requested after you approve the final draft, may be billed separately if we agree to do them at all.
Refunds. Full refund any time before we send the first draft. Once a first draft is sent, the included revisions are how you get the site you want — we do not refund a design we delivered and revised as agreed just because you changed your mind afterward. The one exception: if we have not sent a first draft within 30 days of receiving everything we asked for, that is on us, and you may cancel for a full refund.
You can offer a model you uploaded to the library for anyone to use. Sharing is always your deliberate choice, requires you to confirm you have the right to let others use the model, and is reviewed by a person before it appears. You can withdraw a listing at any time; copies people have already added stay with them. Models in the library may be used in any XRfolio portfolio, with the credit line the listing carries.
Do not upload or publish content you do not have the rights to, content that is unlawful, or a site that pretends to be a person or organisation it is not. Do not attack, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the service. We do not police site names in advance — a name is refused only if it is reserved or in use — and we deal with impersonation and infringement when they are reported, through the process below.
If you believe a hosted site or a library model infringes your copyright, send a notice through the report page or to . Include: the work you own, where the infringing material is (the exact URL), your contact details, a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised, a statement under penalty of perjury that you are the owner or authorised to act for them, and your signature.
On a valid notice we remove or disable the material and tell the account holder why. They may send us a counter-notice with their contact details, a statement under penalty of perjury that the material was removed by mistake, and consent to the jurisdiction of the courts above. We forward it to you; unless you tell us within 10 working days that you have filed for a court order, we restore the material. Accounts that infringe repeatedly are closed.
Every suspension is recorded with its reason and the person who made the decision. If you think we got it wrong, reply to the notice you were sent or write to us from the support page; a person reviews appeals, and we restore what we suspended by mistake.
The service and the engine are provided as they are. We work to keep them reliable, fast and correct, and we fix what we find, but we do not promise they are free of defects or will be available without interruption.
To the extent the law allows, XRfolio is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the service, a hosted site, or the engine. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it arose.
Close your account any time from the dashboard. It cancels billing, takes down your hosted sites, and deletes your stored portfolios and files; the anonymised record of payments is kept for accounting. Sites you downloaded are unaffected. We can end an account that violates these terms, as described under Hosting.
Accounts that were never used. An account with nothing in it — no portfolio, no uploaded file, no site, nothing bought — that has not been signed into for 60 days is closed automatically, because there is nothing in it to keep. This is only ever about empty accounts: a portfolio you built and stopped visiting stays, however long you leave it.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Hawaiʻi, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes go to the state and federal courts located in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi, unless the law where you live gives you a right to your own courts.
If these terms change in a way that matters, we update the date at the top and, for account holders, say so by email. Continuing to use the service after that is acceptance.
